The argument
Flew Bucharest → Munich → Olbia on Sep 7 and drove west to a north-coast base near Sassari for four days. The first full day was the biggest of the trip: an early Saturday sweeping the whole northern shore from the cliffside town of Castelsardo west through the Gallura coast to Capo Testa and Santa Teresa Gallura - eleven localities in one day. Mid-trip we crossed the island to the east-coast base at Tancau sul Mare for a week, day-tripping south to Cagliari and the Villasimius coast, inland to Orgosolo and Fonni for the Barbagia day, and north to the Gulf of Orosei for the two named coastal hikes - Cala Goloritzé out of Baunei and Cala Luna out of Cala Gonone.

Came down the eastern flank through Talana back to the coast
18 Sep · ★ Sentiero Cala Goloritzé out of Baunei - the iconic limestone-arch cove of the Gulf of Orosei. Descent 3.8 km in the morning, the cove for the middle of the day, the 445 m climb back up to the Golgo plateau in the afternoon
19 Sep · ★ Cala Luna out of Cala Gonone - the wide-mouth cove on the Dorgali side of the Gulf. 6 km out along the coastal path, swim, 5.5 km back. The second iconic Gulf of Orosei walk in two days

A comprehensive perimeter tour with one interior day balancing the coastal focus. The skips are mostly boat-only sites (La Maddalena, Cala Mariolu, Asinara) plus the celebrity Costa Smeralda we drove around rather than into. The trip is shaped around what’s drivable; what isn’t, isn’t.
