The argument

We flew Bucharest to Munich to Olbia and drove west to a north-coast base near Sassari for the first four days. The standout there was an enormous early Saturday sweeping the whole northern shore - Castelsardo, Capo Testa, Santa Teresa Gallura, the Costa Paradiso - eleven places in a day. Mid-trip we crossed the island to the east coast at Tancau sul Mare for a week, with a Cagliari day-trip south, the Barbagia mountain-village day through Orgosolo and Fonni, and the cliffs of the Gulf of Orosei at Cala Gonone.
