Middle East and Seychelles

The argument

We flew Bucharest to Tel Aviv and spent ten days in Israel and Palestine from a Tel Aviv base, with day-trips to Jerusalem and Bethlehem, then crossed by land at the King Hussein bridge into Jordan for Amman, Petra, Wadi Rum and the Dead Sea. A flight to the UAE for a week of Dubai and Abu Dhabi, with a single-day step over the border into Oman, and then the long jump to the Seychelles - Praslin, La Digue and Mahé - before the return through Frankfurt. The whole trip’s loudest day was Petra, and the walking total was among the heaviest of any trip we’ve done.

The trip’s path is mostly canonical — Petra, Dubai, Tel Aviv, Jerusalem are all top-decile. The off-path richness comes from structural diversity (5 climate zones, 4 anchors) rather than from any single underphotographed site. The Mahé-without-Beau-Vallon choice is the closest the Seychelles leg gets to a deliberate off-path move.

absent Egypt revisit Geographically adjacent (the user’s Feb 2022 Egypt trip ended just weeks before) but no Egypt overlap. Sinai → Jordan via the southern crossing would have been a natural extension; it wasn’t done.

Five climate zones in 41 days says yes-to-everything. The skips are mostly adjacent extensions the user deliberately didn’t bolt on — Egypt (just done), Madagascar/Réunion (next time), Sharm (different trip’s geography). Inside the chosen anchors, the only true skip is Beau Vallon on Mahé — a coord choice, not a leg choice.
