Twenty days, 564 photos, a Hesse village base with five culture day-trips
11 - 30 July 2022
Read from 564 photo timestamps across 20 days and 4 logged walks, with daily Bleichenbach coord-touches confirming the residency pattern.
The argument
We flew to Frankfurt and settled at Bleichenbach, a tiny village in the Hesse countryside north-east of the city. Twenty days at one address, with five day-trips fanned out from it: Rothenburg ob der Tauber on the Romantic Road, the castle-lined Rhine Valley at the Loreley, a long Black Forest day that crossed into Strasbourg, Thuringia and the Wartburg above Eisenach where Luther translated the New Testament, and the walled little town of Büdingen just down the road. The village days themselves are deliberately quiet - a frame or two, the slow rhythm of actually living somewhere.

The Bleichenbach days have 1-21 photos each — residency rhythm. The 5 excursions account for nearly all the photographic activity.
13 Jul · ★ the Romantic Road day - Rothenburg ob der Tauber and the half-timbered towns along the Main
17 Jul · ★ the castle-lined Middle Rhine, past Wiesbaden to the Loreley rock at St Goarshausen
21 Jul · ★ the broadest day - the Black Forest spa towns and then across the border into Strasbourg
22 Jul · ★★ the peak day - Thuringia and the Wartburg above Eisenach, with Bach’s birthplace below
29 Jul · the walled old town of Büdingen, barely down the road from the base
The other days · life at Bleichenbach itself, a few frames at a time

The Bleichenbach base + Thuringia + Büdingen choices push the trip’s off-path higher than the individual day-excursion sites suggest. Living in a 200-resident German village for 20 days is itself the off-path move — the excursions overlay a canonical-Germany tour onto a deeply off-path residence.

absentBerlin / Munich / HamburgMajor DE cities — none on the coord trace. The user chose Wetterau over capital.
absentBavarian Alps / GarmischNatural day-trip if the goal were ‘Germany’ broadly · zero cluster.
absentHeidelbergA natural Rhine-area day-trip target · passed near (Altlußheim Jul 21) but no specific Heidelberg dwell.
absentFrankfurt cityTouched on entry / exit · no extended dwell. The transit hub, not the destination.
absentHesse interior beyond the anchor20 days lodged in Hesse but the days off-excursion stay tightly at Bleichenbach itself — no broader Hesse-county touring.
A place-and-stay residency at a quiet German village, used as a base for deliberate German-cultural day-excursions rather than a road-trip-through-Germany. The user lived there more than they toured. The skips are mostly bigger-cities Germany (Berlin, Munich) the trip explicitly wasn’t about.
