Thirteen days, 2,717 photos, the canonical Classical Egypt itinerary
5 - 17 February 2022
Read from 2,717 photo timestamps across the full Cairo → Aswan → Luxor longitudinal axis and 4 logged walks, cross-checked against the user's published Cairo itinerary article.
The argument
We flew Bucharest to Istanbul to Cairo, gave four days to Cairo, Alexandria and Giza - the Pyramids day and the long drive up to Alexandria the loudest of them - then flew south to Aswan for Abu Simbel and a slow four-day Nile cruise down to Luxor. A flight back to Cairo bought a final Saqqara and Memphis day among the older pyramids. The single biggest day was Luxor’s West Bank, the Valley of the Kings, and the whole trip ran at a relentlessly high photographic pace - one of the densest we’ve ever sustained over a fortnight.

A canonically-Egyptian itinerary — off-path scoring isn’t useful here. The trip’s value is in the completeness of the canonical sites plus the deliberate Alexandria + Saqqara extensions most short Egypt trips skip.
Negative space
absentThe Red Sea (Hurghada / Sharm el-Sheikh)Egypt’s other major tourist axis (resort coast + diving) — not visited.
absentWestern Desert + Siwa OasisEgypt’s off-path interior. The user chose the Nile axis instead — no Western Desert touch.
absentMt Sinai + St Catherine's MonasteryEgypt’s pilgrim destination — not visited.
absentIslamic Cairo mosque circuitSaladin Citadel + Mosque of Muhammad Ali + Mosque of Ibn Tulun + Cairo Tower all show 0 photos · the user’s published Day 3 wasn’t done on this trip.
absentEdfu + Esna temples interiorCoord-checked: photos are at the river dock / lock area, not at the temple coords. Cruise-stop passes, not deep visits.
absentAswan High Dam + Philae TempleBoth show 0 photos in their 300 m / 1 km radii on Feb 10 — the Aswan day was Nubian-village boat trip, not Dam-and-Philae.
A comprehensive classical-Egypt loop following the canonical Nile + pyramids itinerary, deliberately without the modern beach-resort or desert-adventure extensions. The skips inside the itinerary (Islamic-Cairo mosques, Aswan Dam, Edfu interior) suggest the user chose monument depth over breadth on each stop.
