Five days, 1,021 photos, a final-night Magic Fountain
31 May - 4 June 2017
Read from 1,021 photo timestamps cross-checked against the user's own published 5-day Barcelona itinerary — coord-based, not locality-tag-based.
The argument
Five days in Barcelona, late May into early June 2017 - 1,021 photos, the densest single-destination trip we’d done since Prague the year before. We flew in around midday on Wednesday, then walked the whole radius of the city across four full days: Old Town, the Born and the waterfront on Thursday; Montjuïc, Park Güell and the Bunkers del Carmel on Friday; the Eixample modernist run with Sagrada Família and Hospital de Sant Pau on Saturday; and one last pass at Park Güell before Plaça d’Espanya on Sunday. The trip’s signature is the goodbye - 57 photos in the 21:00 hour at the Magic Fountain, the same night as the flight home.

The signature
Sunday 21:00 — 57 photos at the Magic Fountain
The Plaça d'Espanya farewell — same night as the flight home, no Monday morning to use. The user picked one of Barcelona's most cinematic public-light vantages for the goodbye.
The early-afternoon peak is Park Güell’s third visit of the week, and finally the long one - a brief touch on Saturday, a first dusk look on Friday, then this unhurried Sunday stay. A late-afternoon return to Sagrada Família follows, then a long evening lull before the burst on Plaça d’Espanya. It rhymes with Prague’s Saturday-night peak the year before, but with a sharper signature: this one has a name and a show, the Magic Fountain, not just a wander.

Barely a handful of frames, all of them strung along the rail corridor through Sant Boi de Llobregat - the R2 train in from El Prat. An arrival day, nothing more; the trip doesn’t really begin until Thursday morning.

Two days of itinerary folded into one. A morning at the Gothic cathedral, the Picasso Museum and the Born, then the longest single stop of the day at L’Aquàrium over the lunch hours, Palau Güell after, and a dense, joyful hour on La Rambla and through the Boqueria market - the day’s busiest stretch by far. The Born again in the evening. No Sagrada Família yet; it waits until Saturday.

The longest day of the trip - fifteen hours on the move. A full Montjuïc circuit through the morning: the castle, the strange quiet of the Montjuïc cemetery, the descent past MNAC to Plaça d’Espanya. Then a metro north to the green hush of the Parc del Laberint d’Horta and its hedge maze, and a climb that came within reach of Tibidabo’s summit without quite topping out - close, but no church and no funfair. A first dusk look at Park Güell and the Bunkers del Carmel, and a last frame at the Arc de Triomf well after eleven.

The most architecturally coherent day of the week - the modernist necklace walked end to end the way an architecture course would teach it: Casa Batlló through the morning, La Pedrera, Park Güell at midday, Hospital de Sant Pau in the afternoon, and Sagrada Família to close. An evening drift toward Barceloneta and dinner back in the Born.

The biggest day of the trip - the last-day instinct to photograph everything before leaving. A long, unhurried early-afternoon at Park Güell, the third visit of the week and finally the proper one, then a return to Sagrada Família in the late afternoon. A quiet lull through the evening, and then the farewell: a burst at the Magic Fountain on Plaça d’Espanya around 21:00, a few more at ten, and the flight home that same night.

The trip is on the canonical Barcelona axis but deliberately reaches two off-path notes — Hospital de Sant Pau and Bunkers del Carmel. Both are within walking distance of the main modernist sights but draw a fraction of the foot traffic, and both got proper dwell time rather than drive-bys.

Walked Barcelona’s modernist + plaza axis intensively, plus Park Güell three times and Bunkers del Carmel twice. Skipped the stadium, the further-out summit (Tibidabo), and any day-trip out of the city. A walking-and-shooting city break that deliberately included the city’s high vantages.
